Shams Dubai allows owners to claim credit and offset future bills by providing excess solar power to Dewa's grid
UAE-based Smart Automation Energy (Smart AE) has been accredited to complete projects under the Shams Dubai programme, which allows building owners to connect their photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) grid to convert excess solar output into credit and offset future bills.
Smart AE said its solar PV service assured low-cost solar generation for unutilised spaces of residential and commercial rooftops and car parks.
The energy company added that it had solar PV systems installed on more than 40 buildings in the UAE.
The Shams Dubai programme, which is part of Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, aligns with the UAE Government’s vision to make Dubai one of the smartest cities in the world.
